TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 3 June 2019 – The Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed forces held another event to round off a month of Ramadhan activities. On today’s agenda was the Khatam Al-Quran event that was held in the Defence Academy’s Surau Asy-Syuhada. The aim of the event was similar to all those that preceded it, the objective was to occupy our final days of Ramadhan with yet another meaningful and blessing filled activity.

The Guest of Honour for the event was the Commandant of the Defence Academy, Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan. Also present were the Muslim officers and personnel of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Officer Cadets of Intake 18. The event commenced after the mass Zuhor prayer.

The event marked the completion of reading the Al-Quran and for many of the Officer Cadets this accomplishment felt like a reward as the journey was one soothed by the comfort of the Al-Quran’s teachings. The reading of the Al-Quran throughout the holy month of Ramadhan served as a reminder of the teachings we should abide by to live ethically and harmoniously. Moreover, in addition to this, the process of completing the Al-Quran reading, one which requires discipline and concentration, demonstrated the power of our faith and strengthened it in those who participated. Thus, ending the Ramadhan month on a strong note and leading us into the next month with renewed vigour and energy.
