OCS INTAKE 18 END OF GENERIC TERM PARADE
TANAH JAMBU, Defence Academy, Friday 9 August 2019 - Today marked a new milestone for the Intake 18 of the Officer Cadet School (OCS) as the Parade for the end of Generic Term took place at the Parade Square of the Defence Academy, Tanah Jambu.

The Parade of OCS Intake 18 were divided into 4 contingents and was led by the Parade Commander, 972 Lieutenant Ahmad Rashidi bin Hatan, RBN. The event took place at about 0730 hours where the Parade commenced after the arrival of the Guest of Honor. Present as the Guest of Honor was the Acting Commanding Officer of OCS, 724 Major Muhammad Ghazali bin Haji Husin. The Guest of Honor was welcomed by the Acting Intake Commander, 823 Major (U) Awg Md Yusra bin Jafar which was then followed by the inspection of the Parade by the Guest of Honor before the Parade commenced into a slow and quick march.

The Parade was then concluded with a speech by the Guest of Honor where he highlighted that Officer Cadets have successfully completed the 27 weeks long of the Generic Term and is already halfway through the course. He also emphasized that Officer Cadets should remain persevered and focused with the trainings. The Generic Term had covered a holistic and wide range of basic, tactical and intensive lessons where Officer Cadets were exposed to numerous military exercises and trainings. Islamic religious knowledge were also the prerequisite and mandatory lessons that Officer Cadets had to complete. This is to ensure that the OCS will produce well rounded officers that will own virtuous leadership traits as well as knowledgeable and literate in the matter of religion. The Generic term had also focused on developing intellectual, traits and characters that RBAF Officers should possess. This is also to prepare Officer Cadets for their upcoming Special To Service (STS) Term where Officer Cadets will be sent to undergo trainings in their respective units of the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy and Royal Brunei Airforce for another 3 months before going into the final term of the course.
   
The objective of the Parade was not only to commemorate the completion of the Generic Term but is also to expose and prepare Officer Cadets for their upcoming Parades which include the Sovereign’s Parade. This will be held once the Officer Cadets have completed the 52 weeks of the OCS course.
