KAMPONG TANAH JAMBU, Sunday 26 November 2017 – The Defence Academy RBAF marked its Family Day with a celebration today here at DA RBAF, Kg Tanah Jambu. Present as the Guest of Honor was Colonel Saiful-Akhmar bin Hj Mohd Shariff, the Commandant of DA RBAF and also attending were officers and permanent staff of DA RBAF with their families, including course participants of Junior Staff Course 2017.
The celebration began with a group photo soon after the arrival of the Guest of Honor before proceed with Zumba and fun walk around the camp and finished at the café at the Central Library and Auditorium building.
The Guest of Honor then delivered his speech in which highlighted the commitments of all staff regardless officers or other ranks, even the civilian staffs do contribute in producing quality officers where DA RBAF is a training institution, responsible in providing academic and training to the Officer Cadets and officers who are attending their courses. These quality officers are expected to lead by example, to enhance and contribute for the benefit of the organization and RBAF as a whole.
The event continued with the annual staff excellence awards presentation ceremony. The Best Senior Rank award was presented to Staff Sergeant (U) Alizan bin Mohd Alikhan of Physical Training Instructors (PTI) and the Best Other Rank award was presented to Lance Corporal Rahmah binti Mahari from the Defence Information Technology Unit (DITU). These awards were presented to the personnel who excel in their performance with dedication in their work commitments and good conduct.
This year's Family Day saw various activities being carried out including lucky draw, boat ride, bouncers and shooting games. This celebration embraced silaturrahim with its family-friendly environment aimed to strengthen ties and goodwill among family members of DA RBAF permanent staff.
