KAMPUNG TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 8 December 2017 – The Junior Staff Course (JSC) 2017, that began on 5 September 2017, officially ended this morning with a closing ceremony at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Kampong Tanah Jambu. Present as the Guest of Honour was Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma'awiah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force.
The 14-weeks course is an essential course for mid-level officers to improve their overall military knowledge through various programmes that focus on professional knowledge, leadership and management, communication skills and operational planning. There was a total of 30 local and international participants in the course, comprising of 22 officers from the RBAF, an officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force and 7 international students from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Guest of Honour congratulated all the students for their hard work and dedication during the course, and presented awards to those whom have excelled. The Overall Best Student as well as the Best Research Essay was awarded to 868 Captain (U) Pg Mohammad Azizul bin Pg Hj Zulkifly from the Royal Brunei Air Force, whereas the Best Service Paper went to 854 Captain (U) Dk Nurazriana binti Pg Hassanan from the Royal Brunei Air Force.
Also present at the Closing Ceremony were the Deputy Services Commanders, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department, Defence Attachés/Advisers from participating countries, senior RBAF officers, and staff of the Defence Academy RBAF.
