TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday 28 August 2018 – The Opening Ceremony of the Junior Staff Course (JSC) 2018 was held today at the Auditorium of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampung Tanah Jambu. Present to officiate the opening ceremony of the course was the Acting Commandant of the DA RBAF, Lieutenant Colonel Suriyati binti Haji Junaidi.
The course is attended by a total of 62 participants; 54 officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, an officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force and 7 military officers from People's Republic of China, Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Kingdom of Thailand and Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Junior Staff Course is a 14-weeks course conducted by the Leadership and Management Centre, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The course aims to develop the junior officers' knowledge, leadership and management, communication skills and professionalism to enable them to meet their responsibilities as staff officers. It is a mandatory course for the officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and is a prerequisite for Captain to Major promotion.
