TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday 2 April 2019 – The Opening Ceremony of the Intermediate Staff Course (ISC) 19/2019 was held today at the Auditorium of the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF), Kampung Tanah Jambu. Present to officiate the opening ceremony of the course was the Guest of Honour, the Commandant of DA RBAF, Colonel Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
The opening ceremony began with the recital of the Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Az-Zumar (Verse 7-10) led by 969 Captain Mohd Hamdillah Najri bin Jafri, Royal Brunei Land Force. This was followed by a speech by the guest of honour, where he emphasized the holistic development of officers to become competent staff officers.
The Intermediate Staff Course 19/2019 is a 14 weeks course which is conducted by the Leadership and Management Centre, DA RBAF. The course aims to develop and improve participants’ knowledge, communication skills, leadership and management, professionalism and teamwork to enable them to meet their standard as an officer, confidence to lead and enable to take responsibilities as staff officers. It is a mandatory course for the officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and is a prerequisite for Captain/Lieutenant to Major/Lieutenant Commander promotion.
Total attendees for this year Intermediate Staff Course 19/2019 are 38 participants, consisting of 11 officers from the Royal Brunei Land Force, 14 officers from the Royal Brunei Navy, 8 officers from the Royal Brunei Air Force, one officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force as well as 4 international military officers from the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Republic of Singapore and the Kingdom of Thailand and respectively.
