TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 05 July 2019 – The Intermediate Staff Course (ISC) 19/2019 which was previously known as the Junior Staff Course (JSC) officially ended today with a closing ceremony at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Kampong Tanah Jambu.
Present as the guest of honour was Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the RBAF. Also present at the ceremony were representative of the Commissioner of Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Services Commanders, Military Directors, Defence Attachés and Advisers from respective countries, and senior officers from the RBAF and Defence Academy RBAF.
The 14-week course began on 1 April 2019 until 5 July 2019 with a total of 37 participants, comprising 32 local officers from the RBAF, 1 officer from the RBPF and 4 military officers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
The guest of honour congratulated all the students for their hard work and dedication during the course, and presented awards to those whom have excelled. The Overall Best Student was awarded to Captain Jerome Toh from the Singapore Armed Forces, whereas the Best Research Essay, also known as the Commander RBAF’s Paper was awarded to 931 Captain (U) Emad Hamdi bin Haji Sawal@Shawal from the Royal Brunei Air Force and the Best Service Paper award went to 973 Lieutenant Mohd Amiel Azim bin Haji Afflon, RBN from the Royal Brunei Navy.
